Abstract: This dataset is derived from the 3D geological model of the Po Basin developed in the GeoMol and HotLime European projects. The dataset includes the 3D geometries of four stratigraphic horizons (top or unconformity) bounding lithological homogeneous successions of sedimentary units, in the Triassic - Pleistocene time interval, and of 179 faults pertaining to different fault systems. The horizons are described through the following semantically harmonized attributes: type_contact, age_min, age_max, evaluation_method, observation_method; the geologic units above and below each geometry are also indicated. The faults are described with mean geometric attributes, boolean attributes (active_fault, seismogenic_fault, capable_fault) and the semantically harmonized attributes: type_fault, evaluation_method, observation_method. This harmonization is based on the outcomes of the GO-PEG European project. The finalization of the harmonization process have been realized within the MEET project [funded by European Union - National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) - Mission 4, “Education and Research” - Component 2, “From Research to Business” – Investment Line 3.1, “Fund for the creation of an integrated system of research and innovation infrastructures” - Project Code IR0000025 - MEET].

Lineage: The geological 3D model is the result of the GeoMol and Hotlime projects (http://doi.org/10.15161/oar.it/76873). It is based on the interpretation and integration of a whole set of 2D seismic profiles (1,338 profiles, total length 26,000 km, mean distance 5,000 m), well logs (475 well logs, max depth 7,329 m, mean depth 2,700 m), and constraints from surface geology. The workflow for the 3D model production included a first step of interpretation of the whole set of data and the interpolation of the surfaces of both stratigraphic horizons and faults in the time domain (TWT). The second step is the analysis of 81 depth-time tables for the creation of a 3D velocity model and the time-depth conversion developed using Vel-IO 3D tool (Maesano & D'Ambrogi, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cageo.2016.11.013). Finally, the 3D model in the depth domain has been refined according to geometric inconsistency and integration of independent constraints. The surfaces were resampled on a grid 500x500 m. After the publication of the final 3D geological model, further activities have been realized in the MEET project to supplement geometries with semantically harmonized attributes, based on the outcomes of the GO-PEG European project.
