The Italian section of the database was revised in order to implement the new database of tsunami effects along the Italian coasts (ITED). In order to improve the quality of the data, all the Italian tsunamis of seismic origin have been linked to the Parametric Catalogue of Italian Earthquakes (CPTI15) adopted as the reference earthquake catalogue. In the EMTC2.0 two new tsunami events were added, more information enriched the knowledge on the tsunamis present in the Italian section and, accordingly to the new achieved info, some tsunami parameters, such as the reliability, intensity, generating cause, etc. have changed. ITED and EMTCv2 are interconnected and they can be accessed through a purpose-built WebApp that allows the user to easily switch from one database to another. Each tsunami event has been revised, applying uniform criteria to evaluate the sources and to parameterize the data in order to establish a standard format and structure. The analysis of the bibliographical sources was essential to get information on the generating cause, on the accuracy of the tsunami description and on the quality of the sources themselves, in order to ascertain if the event was worthy of being included in the EMTC. The EMTC reports, for each tsunami, information on the main parameters of the event (date, region, subregion, reliability, tsunami intensity, run-up) and of the generating cause (i.e. geographical coordinates, earthquake magnitude, intensity, focal depth, etc.) as well as detailed descriptions of the tsunami effects in the affected localities, with the related bibliographical references. Based on the available descriptions, tsunami intensity was assigned to each event.
